OUR MISSION
Help SOAR is dedicated to helping restaurant workers and small businesses who were adversely impacted by the pandemic.
WHO WE ARE
Help SOAR is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping restaurants and restaurant workers who have been impacted negatively over the past year as a result of the pandemic. Our focus is to assist and support restaurant workers by providing them with cash relief, helping them find jobs, and helping them start home-based food businesses. We are a student-run organization, operating nationwide with branches in San Francisco, New York, and Chicago. We have partnered with organizations like Southern Smoke, Pilot Light Chefs, The COCO Fund, and many others. As a result of our efforts over the past year we have been able to help over 150 restaurant workers in 17 different states.

Elevating the stories of our workers
Our teams work with people depending on their location: the team in San Francisco works with restaurant workers across the entire West Coast; the team in Chicago works with restaurant workers in the Midwest; the team in New York works with restaurant workers on the East Coast. We host webinars, workshops, and one-on-one sessions to help restaurant workers understand the legal requirements and planning required to start a home-based food business. We assist them throughout this process throughout workshops and personalized help. If restaurant workers are interested in finding a new job, we assign a case worker to them in order to assist them with the process of applying and getting employment in a new workplace which best suits their needs. When restaurant workers are in need of relief, we work with our partner organizations to provide them with cash relief or opportunities for meals, groceries, or other supplies. We also help a select group of restaurant workers with the Help SOAR Fund. The Help SOAR Fund comprises of all donations raised by the organization altogether. All proceeds go directly to restaurant workers in order to help them with their current situations.
